Meet the farmers
"We don't start from what we want, but from what the animal needs. That's our foundation." – David
Back in Belgium, David decided to put this vision into action. He started Sheela Farm, a place where his ideas about agriculture and animal welfare take center stage. For David, everything starts with listening: not what we want, but what the animal needs. That simple question forms the foundation of everything he does.
Stephanie aligns perfectly with this vision. With a background as a bioengineer and agronomist, she combines her scientific knowledge with a passion for sustainable agriculture. She works daily to put Sheela Farm's vision into practice, focusing on both agricultural technical and ecological aspects. Stephanie also teaches students, sharing her experience and insights.

Internship
At Sheela Farm, we offer an internship where you'll truly learn about farming. You'll work in a small-scale, sustainable environment where animal welfare is paramount. During your internship, you'll perform daily tasks such as caring for the animals, feeding them, maintaining stables, and cleaning the farmyard.
Our approach is practical and hands-on: you learn by doing, observing, and brainstorming. You'll be given the space to act independently.
Are you studying agro- and biotechnology, animal care, veterinary medicine, or computer science and looking to gain practical experience? Then an internship with us is perfect for you. Curious to learn more?

Mobilant x Sheela Farm
We actively collaborate with Mobilant, an organization that supports people with care needs, increased vulnerability, and/or (suspected) disabilities in their search for meaningful work and self-reliance. Pegode employees aren't temporary helpers, but permanent, valued colleagues at our farm. This collaboration goes beyond just work: it's a shared mission. We believe everyone deserves a place where they can contribute, grow, and be themselves.
