Arable farming

The versatility of barley

We primarily grow barley on our fields. The barley grains serve as a nutritious supplement for our animals during the winter months, when fresh grass is scarce. We then use the straw as natural and comfortable bedding in our stables.

Grass clover & herb mixtures

We sow grass clover and various herb mixtures on our plots. These crops are not only nutritious for our animals but also improve soil structure and biodiversity.

Flower borders & green manures

Our fields are surrounded by colorful flower borders, a true paradise for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. We also regularly sow our plots with green manures. These plants enrich the soil and prepare it for the next crop. In this way, the mixtures foster life both above and below the ground.

Leaf radish - a real soil hero

We consciously choose organic crops like oilseed radish. This fast-growing plant loosens the soil, retains nutrients, and suppresses weeds. It's also particularly attractive to pollinators.

Planting trees for the future

Finally, we also plant trees on and around our plots. They provide shade, shelter, and enhance the landscape value of our surroundings. An investment in biodiversity and in the future of our agriculture.
